Heading east there is a good mountain path that leads down to the Wildkirchli Caves and the Äscher mountain inn. In the hermit's hut at Wildkirchli you'll find prehistoric bones and tools as well as interesting information about the caves. You can return to Ebenalp along the same path or via Füessler on a safe zig-zag path.
